Things have slowed down a bit. But it looks like Scotty Bowman’s Detroit stay is over. Bowman, a consultant with Detroit since his coaching retirement in 2002; looks to be named as a Senior Advisor to the Chicago Blackhawks today. Bowman said in late June he was happy in Detroit and not going anywhere. Strange, but people have been trying to figure him out for a long time. His son is an assistant GM there tho, so that may have had something to do with it. I don’t see a big problem with the move, it’s not like he’s going to coach again. He might have some knowledge of what prospects Detroit is looking at. But that’s like trying to pick the lottery numbers, they all look good before the drawing.
