Ryan Miller signed a five-year, $31.25 million contract extension on Friday that will keep him in Buffalo thru the 2013-2014 season. I like Miller and wouldn’t have minded seeing him play for the Wings. But with this deal that probably will never happen. Good for him as he was a big factor in the Sabres season last year.
Another signing last week was Lecavalier’s 11-year, $85-million contract extension with the Lightning that will kick in for the 2009-2010 season and run through the 2019-2020 campaign. This should keep him with the Lightning till he retires. Looks like he joins the few players who get to play their entire careers with the same team in today’s market.
