We may have seen the last of Peter Forsberg. Having to undergo months of rehab on his foot, he could return at the end of December at the earliest. A free agent, he would like to sign with the Avalanche; but if the program doesn’t work: ”Then I’m happy with the career I’ve had.” I, for one; will not miss him. He was a thorn in the Wings side when they were trying to beat the Avs and advance in the playoffs back in the ’90’s. It wasn’t until that dumb Lemieux hit on Draper that fired the Wings up and fueled what became a great rivalry. The fights were furious, even the goalies got involved. The fires have died down as most of the players are gone, but a Wings/Avs game is still special.
