Jagr

The Jagr move. To me, it’s a strange move at this stage of his career. But I think the NHL is the best overall league in the world. So to go to Russia is…well, he’s in Siberia as far as to how much we will hear about him. It doesn’t bother him, “Don’t forget I’m from Europe,” said Jagr. “Russia is nothing new for me. It’s close to the Czech Republic. It would be different for American or Canadian players but for me, I enjoy it. So I understand that aspect. I also think the Ranger deal that brought Naslund in was a factor in that he might not return, along with the one year deals he was offered. He wanted a three year deal, but the CBA dictates players over 35 have their salary count against the cap whether they play all three years or not. So no team wanted to offer more than a one year deal except Avangard Omsk. So as good as he is, we bid adieu to him.

Next we talk about the Hossa deal.
